As a part of this year's programme, Shiv public sr. sec School, Sohna executed December months activities by incorporating few programmes to bring in unity and solidarity among the pairing states, Haryana and Telangana. As per the programme, each year, every State/UT would be paired with another State/UT in India for reciprocal interaction between the people. Under the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat Program all the students of Shiv public sr. sec School, Sohna had taken a national unity pledge by the students and teachers of school. The learning objectives of this month’s activities were to acquaint students with the culture of Haryana and Telangana and to bring in unity among the people of two states.
The Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat programme, aims to actively enhance interaction between people of diverse cultures living in different States and UTs in India, with the objective of promoting greater mutual understanding amongst them. Students took oaths in both languages i.e. Haryanvi and Telugu in the assembly. Later on an activity depicting the rich tradition and literature were displayed by talking on the famous personalities of both the States. The programme ended by sharing the current affairs of Haryana and Telangana.
As a part of the Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat- February 2020 month’s activities, the below mentioned activities were conducted-
Students of Grade VIII showcased drama on the culture of Haryana and Telangana during the assembly time. They presented drama on cuisine, places and famous personalities of both the states. Classes VI and VII presented a special assembly showcasing the various art forms, including the music and dance unique to the two states
A painting activity was conducted in every class during the art period. Students were demonstrated the dresses, food etc.
Quiz :-Another activity that was taken up for enriching our student’s knowledge about the state of Sikkim was a ‘QUIZ’ in the said state. The students of Class VI-XII participated in this very interesting Q & A on TELANGANA. The quiz was organised by the class IX students of the school.
As a part of the Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat activities for the month of March 2020, Shiv Public Sr. Sec School. This month's activities were planned to bring awareness of the culture of Haryana and Telangana through folk songs and role play. The students from Grade VII - IX, were taught the Folk songs of Telangana are consist of love songs, epic songs, Jangam kathas, Jamidika kathas, Baikani songs etc by the Music teacher Mr. Sunil during the music period and the students of Grade VII to IX presented the same in the assembly. The students of Grade VIII also shared information on the forts of Telangana through role play.
Students of class-IX conducted Talking Hour: News on the partnering State (Telangana) in the morning assembly. To develop linguistic capacity, students sang a beautiful and soulful song in the language of our partner state Telangana. It was an enriching experience for the students. The main objective of this activity was to groom our students as responsible citizens with deep belief in Unity in diversity of the nation.
.To enrich their communication skills and presentation skills, ‘Inter Class Speech Competition’ was conducted on ‘Economic and Social Development in India’. The students expressed their views in coherent manners on the assigned topic. The enthusiasm and dynamics of the students was praise worthy. It was indeed an informative session. The assembly ended with the principal ma'am encouraging students to embrace each other’s differences and celebrate people’s uniqueness.
The School Principal Mrs. Saroj Yadav and the staff praised the students and congratulated the participating students for the proficient performance and the efforts they made.
SHIV PUBLIC SR. SEC. SCHOOLPS, SOHNA in compliance with the CBSE initiated FIT INDIA MOVEMENT conducted several activities to celebrate the ‘Fitness Week’ in the school from 11th November, 2019 to 27nd November, 2019. Following are the day wise activities and tasks organised by the school in this regard:
The School conducted yoga session for the students on 11th November, 2019, the first day of the week. Mr. Satish Kumar demonstrated various asanas like Bhujanga Asana, Chakrasana, Surya Namaskar etc. followed by ‘omkar chanting’. The students were made aware of various benefits of these asanas for both mind and body which include flexibility, strength, stress relief and cure of many life style diseases. The Yoga teachers encouraged the children to make yoga an integral part of their daily lives.
Students of Class V were assembled in the Football field and were briefed about the importance of exercises for maintaining good health and how it builds immunity to protect us from various diseases. After a brief warming up session the students were taught a few free hand exercises to strengthen large and small muscles of our body. Children were told how movements like jumping, squatting, bending, swinging etc. help to increase strength, fitness and flexibility of our body. They were advised to follow these set of exercises daily to achieve a fit and healthy body.
On the third day of the Fitness Week, a Poster Making Competition was organised for the students. The topic of the activity was: Fit Body, Fit Mind and Fit Environment. The students enthusiastically participated in the activity and made creative posters. This competition aimed to encourage children to inculcate physical activity and sports in their lives.
Aerobics and Martial Arts are the forms of physical exercises that combine rhythm with strength with the aim of incorporating all elements of fitness. Keeping this in mind, Aerobics and Martial Arts activities were organized for the children to instill a healthy lifestyle which will help in enhancing self-esteem and confidence.
An Essay Writing Activity was conducted for the students of Classes 9 and 11. The children wrote thought-provoking essays on the theme- Fit India School. They wrote creative pieces highlighting how physical activity and sports were crucial for a well-rounded personality. Day 6: Mass PT Students of Classes 6 to 8 were engaged in a Mass PT Drill. The PE Instructors did warming-up exercises with the students and prompted them into some basic physical training.
The school being in Haryana State and its partner state being Telangana (Annexure A) organized the indigenous games of Haryana Kho-Kho which the students enjoyed playing a lot it in the Haryana Style.
In the month of September Swachhata Pakhwada was celebrated in Shiv Public Sr. Sec. School under the guidance of our Principal ‘Mrs. Saroj Yadav’. Keeping this mission in mind during 1st to 15th September 2019 various ctivities had been held such as:
Students of ECO CLUB organized the activities. In which students performed very well and showed great enthusiasm towards the mission. On the first day all the students took a pledge to maintain cleanliness and spread this message around. In assembly in the supervision of various teachers students participated in different Swachhata Day by poster, speeches on importance of cleanliness use of dustbins, how one child can teach many etc. The junior classes were engaged in poster making & letter writing and play based on Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. Senior students reached out to the local areas and aware the people about the cleanliness and hygiene practices. On the concluding Day date 16th September 2019 we celebrated prize distribution Day to encourage the participated students.
Many students of our school performed exceedingly well in their XII and X
Board examinations. In recognition of their excellent performance an award
ceremony was organized in the school on 18th May 2019 and the students were
felicitated with trophies.
The entire SMC of the school graced the occasion. Patron "Shri Ram Kishan Grag" and the Chairman
"Shri Hemchand Goyal" exhorted the students to continue the tempo set by them and do even better
their college/Professional institution.
Principal "Smt. Saroj Yadav" expressed her gratitude to chairman SMC for his continuous support in
improving learning situation. She also acclaimed faculty of Shiv Public School for
their academic excellence.
